Props for TV Ad and Customer Engagement Campaign

B&Q has established a strategic partnership with the well-known US paint manufacturer Valspar to introduce a vibrant and innovative range of paints to the UK market. This collaboration aims to inspire creativity and self-expression in home decor.

To effectively promote the new Valspar paint collection, B&Q has launched a comprehensive marketing campaign that prominently features television advertisements. These ads showcase the various shades and finishes, allowing customers to easily reimagine their homes with style.

Through this campaign, B&Q invites homeowners to embrace their individuality and explore endless possibilities for improvement. The stars of B&Q's TV campaign are 'Steve the Sock' and 'Bunny,' two unique stuffed creatures designed to help customers express their personal style.

The Project

B&Q set out to replicate the unique props showcased in their television advertisements for an engaging in-store marketing campaign. To achieve this, Livewire Marketing sourced high-quality materials and manufactured a total of 440 individual sock characters, each designed to perfectly mirror those featured in the ads. 

In addition to the sock characters, the agency also sought out and procured 440 delightful stuffed bunnies, along with 764 vibrant maracas. These items were carefully collected and distributed to 357 B&Q stores across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. This strategic distribution was executed in advance of an upcoming print promotion, ensuring that the stores were well-stocked and ready to delight customers.
